Dear Cyndy Andrus,
My name is Katelin and I'm a senior at Belgrade High. I'm very interested/concerned about the
lockdowns, masks, and how it affects the town and the people all around us. I hope you can
answer a couple of my questions or just give a listen to what I have to say.
In the past year we have been on lockdown, mask wearing and still hearing about how
covid is growing and shrinking. Yes there is a problem with covid I do believe that it is not
avoidable but for the past year we have been through the same circle over and over again. With
us being in lockdown it affects everyone and their lives. Being in lockdown and some places still
being closed,those people are not bringing in the income they are needing to live and keep their
business going. We are always going to live in the fear and uncertainty of being sick, but we
need to be able to live our lives and be normal and not have to be worried all of the time. Masks
make it so hard to understand people, and you never know how people are going to feel if you
are or are not wearing a mask, life is always going to be a little hard but we need to start living
our lives like normal. Covid is always going to be around just like every other sickness, for
example influenza, chicken pox, the flu, and we all live life like normal even with all these
illnesses that we are able to get and transfer from human to human. I believe that the issue is that
the media and everyone is making people and society believe that if we live life like normal we
will all get sick, and I believe that is incorrect and we shouldn't have to live in fear for any
longer.
I think that our best solution is to lift the mask, and most of the lock down rules. I believe
this would be helpful because hardly anywhere wears their masks already, but also because I
believe masks are not helping they are making it worse, people are getting sick from having to
wear them all the time,but also because the piece of cloth we are wearing on our faces is just
collecting our germs. Masks and the lockdown should be lifted so that we can feel like we aren't
living in fear when we are just surviving another illness. If you believe it should stay I would
love to hear your opinion, and more detail on these types of things.
