I am not sure if Annie is going to make the meeting tonight and I am in California. I would
again like to voice our vote for the Reconstruction Project and our concerns too. Our primary
concerns are:
1) The infrastructure changes that will be made to the utilities include removal of all lead pipes
to each house and that sewer connections made by the contractor replace all connections into
each yard past the sidewalk so that the new road surface and sidewalks will not be cut to do
this work following the reconstruction.
2) That the city forestry division makes recommendations for the removal of all trees in the
boulevards that are improperly placed such as those spaced to close together and trees that are
not listed as appropriate species that might be impacting or will at some point impact the new
curbs and sidewalks.
3) That no Fly Ash be incorporated into the concrete in place of Portland Cement. The
sidewalks surfaces should be guaranteed by the contractor to hold their finish. You see many
sidewalks with stamped names and dates that look better than many of the sidewalks poured
recently. This is often because of inappropriate finishing. Fly Ash has high levels of heavy
metals and it is not needed to slow the curing; it is a way to dispose of hazardous waste and
reduce the cost associated with Portland Cement.
Thank you,
Greg and Ann
