We support the proposed street improvement project. We are also interestedto learn more about the possibility and cost of some kind of traffic calming structure and the possibility of areduction in the speed limit. We are concerned about the speed of traffic in this historical district. Would it bepossible to reduce the speed limit to 15 mph from the current 25 mph? At 25 mph it is very difficult to see trafficcoming from the left or right that is also traveling at 25 mph. Many of the intersections have low visibility. Werealize the speed limit is 15 mph when approaching an uncontrolled intersection. The problem is that very fewdrivers follow this rule. We have observed numerous collisions every summer at our intersection of 6th & Curtissalone. A reduced speed limit would create a safer environment for the children and the rest of us in thisneighborhood and eliminate the need and cost of traffic calming devices. Traffic calming structures would alsocreate difficulties for snow removal, therefore we think a lower speed limit is the preferred solution. Thank you forinvolving us in this process. We look forward learning about the results of this interest inquiry and intend to stay involved in reviewing thereconstruction design if the project moves forward. Please let us know that you received our email message. Thankyou for involving us in this process. Sincerely, Dwight and Pam Bode
