I am a resident of Meadow Creek in Bozeman and I want to comment on
the potential Buffalo Run development.
It is critical that we open up housing in Bozeman. I am 100% in favor of
developing west of Meadow Creek (so don't let the NIMBY comments get
you down!).
I would prefer that the housing be as affordable as possible and that the
City and County figure out a way to work together on sustainable traffic
patterns/roads so that the bulk of the traffic associated with the project
doesn't run on streets that weren't built as arteries. We happen to live at
the corner of 27th and Kurk, which is not a collector street, so we would
be one of the most impacted homes should the traffic not be routed
differently. This is also a school bus stop, so we have the neighborhood
kiddos to think about. And R5 development for that space seems out of
sync with the definition the City has adopted.
But don't let those who have homes throw rocks at those who don't. Or
something like that.
