I ask the City Commissioners to please consider the impact this proposed development will have on the Meadow Creek community. Any of us owning property around Ainsworth Park or on North 27th, Kurk Avenue, Blackwood, 30th, and Meah will directly face negative impacts. The proposed R-5 district does not align with the Bozeman Community Plan, as it would not be in "close proximity to jobs and services" but situated in an extremely quiet neighborhood at the edge of city limits & clearly does not promote "compatible urban growth". Furthermore, the effect of the proposed R-5 high-density district on motorized and nonmotorized transportation systems would significantly disrupt the Meadow Creek community which has few access points and is not capable of coping with excessive traffic. Lastly, please consider the impact R-5 development will have on the value of homes in this community. The character of this district is defined by quiet, wildlife, and open spaces. I urge the City Commissioners to please visit Ainsworth Park & see what it is like accessing this area by car or bicycle. And while doing so, I urge the City Commissioners to consider firsthand three things: 1) how challenging it will be to cope with increase traffic in this tranquil neighborhood; 2) the number of children playing, community members jogging in the streets, and wildlife in the surrounding fields; 3) and finally, how impossible it will be to maintain quality of life and value of property should high density housing development and traffic increases occur. I honestly can't imagine what the perpetual noise, traffic, disappearance of sandhill cranes, field wildlife, & loss of mountain views will do to quality of life & property values in this very quiet part of town. Thank you for your time & service on behalf of the community. Respectfully, Forrest If you would like to submit additional documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .rtf, .txt) along with your comment, you may alternately address agenda@bozeman.net directly to ensure receipt of all information.
