Good Afternoon Matt –
This is only the second time I’ve heard of the City asking for something like this from our local
department, and maybe Denise can speak for MDEQ, but having said that, I’ve looked at your data
from this location between Baxter and West Oak and have the following comment:
1. It looks two peaks were observed, a spring run-off peak and a later August irrigation peak.
This department does not know of any other ground water peaks in this area.
The Local Water Quality Department (582.3167) is much more knowledgeable about ground water
elevations in the valley and may have a monitoring well nearby which might provide better
information about monthly peaks.
Feel free to call or email me if you have additional questions.

Subject: City of Bozeman Subdivision - North West Crossing Phase 1 - Groundwater
Denise,
Hope all is well with you in these crazy times! I have an odd request. We are working on a
major subdivision in the City of Bozeman called Northwest Crossing. We have a phase 1
preliminary plat submittal under review with the City right now. One of the comments we
got is below:
BMC 38.220.060.A.3. Groundwater:
a. All though it appears that much of the requiredinformation has been provided, please provide aseparate Groundwater supplement which contains allrequired information from BMC 38.220.060.A.3.
Duplication of the information between other platsupplements is fine. Please provide written confirmationfrom the County’s environmental health department thatthe measurements are taken during the period of majorconcern for the seasonal high, per 38.220.060.A.3.a.
Anyway, I have attached our groundwater monitoring data. The second page of the
attachment shows where the (8) groundwater monitoring wells were located on the
property. The first page shows the data collected. You can see we monitored the
groundwater from 5/24/19 to 9/5/19.
If I could ask – could you give me your thoughts on the highlighted section above?
Thank you for your assistance,Matt
