1. PRIOR TO BIDDING, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL VISIT THE FACILITY AND TH OROUGHLY
FAMILIARIZE HIMSELF WITH EXISTING CONDITIONS.
2. SCHEDULE DEMOLITION WORK WITH THE OWNER TO MINIMIZE DISRUPTION O F SERVICES AND
PROVIDE FOR THE UNINTERRUPTED FUNCTIONING OF THE FACILITY.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ALL DEMOLITION INCIDENTAL TO OR REQ UIRED FOR NEW
AND RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION WHETHER OR NOT IT IS SPECIFICALLY NO TED, INCLUDING
BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ALL OTHER WORK THAT MIGHT REASONABLY BE REQU IRED TO BE
REMOVED IN PREPARATION FOR SPECIFIED FINISHES. DEMOLITION SHALL BE PERFORMED IN
A MANNER THAT WILL NOT DAMAGE ANY SERVICES INDICATED TO REMAIN. SERVICES SHALL
BE PATCHED IF NECESSARY TO PROVIDE A SUITABLE SUB -STRATA FOR NEW FINISHES.
4. REMOVE ALL ITEMS SHOWN AS "DASHED".
5. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONSTRUCT DUST BARRIER PARTITIONS AS REQUIR ED TO SEPARATE
CONSTRUCTION AREAS FROM OCCUPIED AREAS. EXIT PATHS SHALL BE MAI NTAINED CLEAR
OF EQUIPMENT, MATERIAL AND DEBRIS.
6. DEBRIS SHALL BE PROMPTLY REMOVED FROM THE BUILDING AND THE SITE AND DISPOSED OF
IN A LEGAL MANNER. SURFACES IN THE CONSTRUCTION AREA SHALL BE M AINTAINED IN A
BROOM CLEAN CONDITION AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY.
7. PORTIONS OF OCCUPIED AREAS WILL REMAIN IN OPERATION AT ALL TIMES . SECURITY MUST
BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES. REVIEW SECURITY PROCEDURES WITH THE OWNER PRIOR TO
THE START OF WORK.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN AND ADHERE TO ALL CURRENT LIFE -SAF ETY AND INTERIM
LIFE -SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS PROJECT.
9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PATCH AND/OR REPAIR ANY AND ALL SURFACES DA MAGED OR
REMOVED DURING DEMOLITION TO MATCH EXISTING SURFACES UNLESS SURF ACES ARE TO
RECEIVE NEW FINISHES OR UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE. REFER TO AND CO ORDINATE WITH
STRUCTURAL.
10. ALL BUILDING SERVICES, INCLUDING MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND ELECTR ICAL SHALL NOT
BE DISRUPTED FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME NO MATTER HOW MINIMAL, UNLES S COORDINATED
AND APPROVED BY THE GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND THE OWNER.
11. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSPECT EXISTING CONDITIONS PRIOR TO WORK. PRI OR TO SUBSTANTIAL
COMPLETION THE CONTRACTOR WILL REPAIR OR CLEAN DAMAGED OR DIRTY SURFACES
ADJACENT TO PROJECT WORK AREAS (CAUSED BY CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIE S) TO MATCH
ORIGINAL CONDITION.
12. SEE MECHANICAL, PLUMBING AND ELECTRICAL FOR DEMOLITION REQUIREME NTS FOR THOSE
DISCIPLINES.
