Subject: Opposition to R5 Zoning for Buffalo Run

I am writing in strong opposition to the R5 zoning proposal for the Buffalo Run development.
I will note my primary reasons for this opposition below, but as a resident of Meadow Creek I
am extremely concerned with the level of density in this location. I would like to note that this
is not a case of “not in my backyard,” as I am not oppose to any development in that location,
but rather the high density designation is inappropriate in that location.
The only access as well as evacuation route would be through Meadow Creek. They
should be required to have their own exit routes.
The impact study states that possible 2140 vehicle trips per day could be added to Kurk
Dr, this is not a main artery street. It is not suitable to this volume of traffic.
Funneling a high density development through a low density one is not only
inappropriate and potentially unsafe, it is seems to impede on the good faith the current
owners of Meadow Creek bought their properties on.
Possible losing the ONLY park/playground our development has! This is not only
heartbreaking as a parent it is infuriating to think the children’s neighborhood park
could be destroyed by a proposed road through the park!! I thought there were
requirements of open space in developments, and now this would take ours away.
