My name is Steven Wiechmann and I am an owner in the Meadow Creek subdivision. I would like to offer some
public comment regarding the Buffalo Run subdivision to be developed to the west of our neighborhood.
While no one loves to have new developments in their backyard, I fully recognize the growth in Bozeman and know
that all open space may at some point be developed including this parcel for Buffalo Run. However I feel strongly
that there are several points regarding this development that need to be reconsidered as they will very negatively
affect our existing neighborhood of Meadow Creek.
Traffic: Having Kurk street be the ONLY access to 288 living units is absurd. And the proposal to extend 31st north
through one of our only green spaces and so near to the only park in the neighborhood is no better an access point.
Not certain all the streets in Meadow Creek are built to the correct width to be considered an arterial street to access
a new subdivision. Reconsideration to using Fowler as access is imperative.
Zoning: There is no sensible transition from a R-1 built residential neighborhood to an R-5 development. The
amount of parkland not set aside in that development will further stress the already low parkland and green space we
have in our neighborhood, and we pay to maintain through our HOA.
Please consider these comments during your meeting in February.
