Brown - City Climate Plan Solution N - consider how city will partner with those who live outside city limitsFrom: Zachary Brown To: Agenda Cc: Natalie Meyer Subject: Public Comment on City Climate Plan Date: Monday, January 4, 2021 7:00:33 AM Hello, As someone who was born and raised in Bozeman and who has the privilege of still living within City limits, I appreciate the City moving forward to develop a substantive Climate Plan. All the focus areas and solutions outlined in the plan are important. I want to commend you specifically on the insightful inclusion of Solution N: Cultivate a Robust Local Food System. Food is a nexus that brings together many community needs, interests and values; strengthening local food systems is a critical piece of the puzzle. As you proceed, I encourage you to consider and commit to exploring how the City can collaborate with the County to work toward these solutions and actions. Given growth in our region, these goals - from maintaining agricultural lands for food production to managing development - require teamwork. As you move forward with the four actions listed under Solution N, from 'Support the Formation of a Local Food Council' (6.N.1.) to 'Support Local Food Production, Processing, and Distribution' (6.N.4.), please consider how the City will partner with those who live and work beyond the City limits. Again, thank you for working toward a comprehensive, visionary plan to ensure a more equitable and resilient community for current and future generations.
