The intention of this resolution is to change the street name of "Dead Mans Gulch" to "Cattail Street". The Gardner-Simmental Plaza was formed in late 1974 and early 1975. The Subdivision Plat shows roads were given names of the the "Old West". Specifically: Rawhide Ridge, Vigilante Trail Court, Boot Hill Court, and Dead Mans Gulch. Boie & Kindt Partnership purchased Lot 1, Tract 3, of Gardner-Simmental Plaza in 1984, and subsequently built a building and leased it to Montana Container Corporaiton (MCC). MCC has been in business at 1925 Dead Mans Gulch from 1984 to the present. We are very proud of the "Old West" flavor that our street evokes. Over the years, our address has been an interesting topic of discussion with suppliers, customers, and contacts of our Company. MCC's envelopes, bills of lading, invoices, checks, and other written materials, are printed with our current address of 1925 Dead Mans Gulch. Why, at this time, should we be asked to change our address that has been in effect for thirty-four years; and in doing so, pay the substantial costs of a change in address? Therefore, on behalf of the owners of Boie & Kindt Partnership, and Montana Container Corporation, and it's twenty-four employees, I respectfully request the Bozeman City Commission deny the request for the aforementioned change of address. Respectfully, Robert N. Boie Managing Partner, Boie & Kindt Partnership, and President, Montana Container Corporation. PS: Would you please confirm receipt of this email. Thanks.
