Dear City Council,
I wish to express my concern about widening Kagy Blvd to a 4-lane road as outlined in the
Capital Improvement Plan. I live south of MSU and cross or use this section of road on aregular basis. I do not see the need to widen this stretch of road to 4 lanes, and am concerned
about the impacts of widening on pedestrians and cyclists. I whole heartedly agree with thepoints outlined in the article titled, 'Widening Kagy to avoid "rush 15 minutes' too costly,' in
the Bozeman Daily Chronicle on December 20, 2020, by guest columnist, Randy Carpenter.These points include:
1. Widening Kagy is too expensive for the expected benefits 2. Other projects, including adding bicycle lanes to city streets, should be prioritized
3. This project is not in line with community goals and priorities outlined in the communityplan and draft climate plan.
