rewriting that section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern Energy provide clean, renewable
electricity to Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
Commissioners: I think our nation has allowed industry, with its bottom-line profit motive, to write the rules long
enough. We are in the midst of a climate disaster, with no time left to lose. Allowing NWE to write the electricity
section of Bozeman's Climate Plan is like allowing Boeing to certify the safety of the 737, only with far broader
consequences. Its past time to abandon our reliance on fossil fuels and embrace green energy technology- solar,
wind, geothermal wherever feasible. Storage technologies exist, and are becoming more cost-effective and
mainstream every day. Please: position Bozeman to help lead the way to a clean energy future.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
I wrote to you during the public input phase of the city's community plan, suggesting you might wish to explore
geothermal potential for electricity generation along with other clean energy alternatives. I never heard back and
don't know if the subject was seriously discussed during the planning process.
Now, I am very concerned about NorthWestern Energy's role in seriously weakening the electricity section of the
city's climate plan and the relevant sections of the community plan. I urge you to publicly commit to rewriting that
section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern Energy provide clean, renewable electricity to
Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.
NWE has not been serving the public interest. It is time for the commission to redefine what is in the public's long
term interest and require private life line services, like NWE, to make commensurate policy and investment
decisions. If they continue building on dirty energy (gas and coal), that should be a signal that public ownership of
the utility should be considered.

I am please and proud that you are working towards a climate-safe future for Bozeman. I am extremely concerned,
however, that NorthWestern Energy is undermining those efforts when it comes to electricity. Please rewrite that
section of the Climate Plan to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern Energy provide clean,

have demonstrated that renewable energy dependably delivers electricity, benefits the environment, and saves
money. Standing up to NorthWestern Energy and their gas interests is essential for our climate, our energy goals,

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
Dear Commissioners,
I am thrilled that you are trying to forge a path to a climate-safe future for the city we all love. I am a teacher here in
town and I had my students study the Bozeman Climate Plan in class this fall. Terry Cunningham presented in our
class and we were all extremely impressed by his presentation on Bozeman's commitment to a carbon-free future
and the enormous input from the Bozeman community that helped shape the plan.
The vote Tuesday night on the Bozeman Climate Plan is an historic moment on the path to greater sustainability.
However, I am very concerned about NorthWestern Energy's role in seriously weakening the electricity section.
I urge you to publicly commit to rewriting that section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern
Energy provide clean, renewable electricity to Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.
The citizens of Bozeman have spoken and they demand a carbon-free future. Additional investments in yesterday's
technology will not solve our problems but investments in tomorrow's technology will. Wind, solar and other clean
energy sources are the future of Montana and that future starts today.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
Dear city leaders,
I have lived in Bozeman my whole life. I am excited that you are trying to forge a path to a climate-safe future for
the city we all love. The vote Tuesday night on the Bozeman Climate Plan is an historic moment on that path.
However, I am very concerned about NorthWestern Energy's role in seriously weakening the electricity section. I
urge you to publicly commit to rewriting that section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern
Energy provide clean, renewable electricity to Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.
It?s now or never, stand up for our energy future, our winter, and our way of life.
Sincerely,
Atticus

Both Wyoming and Idaho states have discovered that investment in renewable energy not only helps to protect the
environment but is actually cheaper!
Let?s make Bozeman an example to the rest of the state!

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
NWE is the enemy of renewable energy. They lag other utilities by 20 years in their thinking. I have been in the
renewable energy business in Montana for 35 years. At every step, NWE or their predecessor was stupidly
obstructive. The y are not a partner but an adversary.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
I am excited that you are trying to forge a path to a climate-safe future for the city we all love. The vote Tuesday

NorthWestern Energy's role in seriously weakening the electricity section. I urge you to publicly commit to
rewriting that section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern Energy provide clean, renewable
electricity to Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.

Gas Generation contributes to our environmental crisis. We have the technology to go beyond gas. Now is the time
to change and do things the right way. We must stop going back to fossil fuels. Stop looking back to what makes us
comfortable. It is time to be at the forefront of ingenuity. Let?s show the world we can turn this all around and create
an amazing, new, bustling economy in the process. We have the tech we need, it?s time to implement it and create
new jobs and growth in the process.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
I am excited that you are trying to forge a path to a climate-safe future for the city we all love. The vote Tuesday
night on the Bozeman Climate Plan is an historic moment on that path. However, I am very concerned about
NorthWestern Energy's role in seriously weakening the electricity section. I urge you to publicly commit to
rewriting that section to include a clear and urgent demand that NorthWestern Energy provide clean, renewable
electricity to Bozeman and cancel its plan to add additional gas generation.
Sincerely,
DAVID KASTELINE

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
WHEN BUILDING A NEW PLANT WE LOOSE MORE OF EARTH AND ARE EFFECTING OUR
CHILDREN'S FUTURE. ARE YOU GOING TO LEAD YOUR CHILD TO A FUTURE OF SUFFERING JUST
SO SOMEONE SOMEWHERE CAN FILL THERE POCKETS WITH MORE CURRENCY? Continuing to build
these large factories/facilities is bringing our earth to a complete end even quicker. The pollution has already started
a major issue. Earth is having a hard time keeping up with filtering air and therefore is causing major issues such as
global warming, major percentage loss of any or all living species. Some driven to their extinction. This will push to
a complete extinction of all animals and humans alike. Your choice is not to just build something new. Look at the
whole picture including the outcome. Please don't make it harder for our children. I don't want to leave life one day
knowing that my children are left unsafe and alone to battle issues we caused them. Would you leave your child to
sit in a smoke filled room with very little to no filtration? Fact-Earth's filtration system has already began the
struggle which in turn causes other world issues.

Dear Bozeman City Council -- Public Comment,
Bozeman has a chance to lead the state in its climate plan. Please make sure it is a plan by and for the people, and
not by and for the big energy sector who shares a large portion of the blame for the alarming climate situation we are
in.
