Dear City Commissioners,
It is imperative that a large chunk of funding from the new 2022 budget for the general fund goes towards
multi-modal pathways.
Our taxpayer dollars pay for millions worth of work on motorized roads each year.
It behooves us to spend at least 1 million dollars on pathways to ensure the healthy, vibrant community
that Bozeman's recently adopted Climate Plan envisions.
Providing safe, alternative routes so that pedestrians and bicyclists can get to all areas of the city, is a key
to having a sustainable community.
Right now and for many years, there has been NO funding allocated to pathways, even though the city
has spent much to have studies done which tell them that we desperately need millions worth of
pathways.
This is unacceptable in a town that values the natural world, and realizes the economic benefits of having
many recreational opportunities.
Please make sure the 2022 budget includes $500,000 to $1 million in funding for pathways.
Sincerely,
Wren Kilian
