To Whom It May Concern
I am calling for the immediate resignation and/or termination of Matt Kelley. He has
repeatedly placed himself in the public eye and is constantly making public commentfurthering the divisiveness in our community. I am medically unable to wear a mask and rarely
go to any stores because of the huge amount of hatred from my peers. My husband is a combatveteran who spent years gaining back the ability to leave the house without feelings of unease
and discomfort, what you have done has set him back a decade. It does not help that everytime I open an article from the Bozeman Chronicle and other local publications, Matt Kelley is
there talking about how people like me are the reason our businesses are suffering.
People like me make up a tiny percentage of the population here in Bozeman, we are not thereason.
People like me aren't going to every restaurant in town (we can't, you have made sure of that) People like me can't even get our kids booked for a dentist appointment.
People like me order our groceries online every two weeks for curbside pick up to avoidunnecessary conflict. (By the way....we then find many items missing, damaged, past date, etc
because curbside pickup is NOT an adequate substitute for shopping on your own.)
I also have major legal complaints about Matt Kelly and his offices' inability to grant allHealth Board correspondence as requested in September using the FOIA. This is illegal and
unacceptable. If Mr Kelly will not allow himself to be held responsible to the public for hisangry rhetoric and arbitrary directives (that he continues to refuse to show substantial
scientific basis for), he has no business in this position. Him and County Attorney MartyLambert are in clear violation of the Open Meetings Act, this board will ultimately be held
responsible, no matter how hard we have to fight to get there.
I stand firmly behind Mike Hope and the staff at the Rocking R Bar. They are the epitome ofwhat you should be amplifying. They have respected all of your protocols and gone above and
beyond to honor your distancing guidelines and sanitation procedures. To arbitrarily insistthey close when you decide they should, is not only unAmerican but entirely outside of your
authority. I will be emailing our commissioners, our governor-elect, and our city council toexpress support and outline the laws being violated by the Board of Health that should
immediately void any discrimation and harassment being perpetuated by you toward our localbusinesses.
They are posing ZERO threat to our lives and being penalized while this board continues to
play games with our livelihoods.
Do Better,
Christina Cox
