Hoskin - new subdivisionFrom:eileen hosking To:Agenda Subject:new subdivision Date:Tuesday, December 1, 2020 8:35:43 AM I urge the Commission to delay any approval of any new subdivisions until each of you has read Todd Wilkinson's recent article in Mountain Journal, Is High-Flying Bozeman, Montana Losing The Nature Of Its Place? I know that you are all smarter than to believe that growth at the current rate is inevitable. I know that you know that building more, making downtown neighborhoods denser, andannexing county land into the city is not going in any way to save the environment or drop the cost of housing, much less affect zoning in the county. Certainly some of you must bewondering where water will be coming from for the hoards you are inviting here. Certainly no one thinks we can conserve our way out of that impending crisis. In fact, I would urge the Commission and decision makers in the city's bureaucracy to sitdown with Mr. Wilkinson to get an understanding of the consequences of your decisions before you congratulate yourselves on the "Community Plan," which seems a blueprint for thetotal destruction of our once wonderful last best place.
