First, open land is rapidly disappearing in Bozeman and this is one of the last pieces on the West side of Bozeman. I observe lots of birds, including sand hill cranes, eagles, and owls, transiting and utilizing that open farmland. The views behind my residence will be negatively impacted by this development, not to mention the noise and traffic associated with the building of it. This may have negative effect on my property value as well as the many residents in the area so that several half million to million dollar homes can be built for out of state residents who can afford them on higher salaries. If this development proceeds, I request that the City require lots nearest to Oak Street be set back to preserve some of our view of the Bridge Mountains and multiple open parks be included to preserve some of the open space. Second, the new high school and connector road between Oak and Cottonwood has increased traffic. A major development in that area will only make the traffic even worse. Why should residents on the West Side of town disproportionately bear the brunt of the costs of Bozeman's rapid development? The development needs to be more evenly distributed. The city has stressed infill as a strategy for development but this project would create more sprawl and take away more of the disappearing unique open land character of Bozeman. Please start taking into consideration the interests of the residents who already live in Bozeman instead of prioritizing the interests of developers and wealthy out of state residents. Respectfully, Kenneth Silvestri 5785 Saxon Way, Unit A Bozeman, MT 59718 If you would like to submit additional documents (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .gif, .jpg, .png, .rtf, .txt) along with your comment, you may alternately address agenda@bozeman.net directly to ensure receipt of all information.
