To the Members of the Bozeman City Commission:
The City of Bozeman is, in one commissioner’s recent words, “trying to get to ‘yes’ ” in the
formation of of a URD Plan for the Idaho Pole site. I find this concerning as a resident ofBozeman’s Northeast Neighborhood. I am impressed and grateful to the citizens of my
neighborhood and beyond for raising thoughtful questions and well-founded reservationsabout the City’s evident intent to “get to yes” sooner rather than later. I sincerely hope the
Commission is acknowledging our collective concerns. The need for thoughtful solutions, aswell as vigilance, is clear in light of the property’s many unique constraints, environmental
and logistical perils, as well as its potentials. More fact-based study and perhaps moreimagination are very much needed, in my opinion, before a decision is made. Can the
Commission at the very least postpone its final decision until after the EPA’s public meetingon December 3?
