Ladies & Gentlemen:
Driving around Bozeman in the vicinity of apartment buildings, condos and multiplex houses it is obvious
that the city has a huge parking problem. It is very obvious that the city is simply not requiring sufficient
parking when these structures are built.
We ourselves lived in the Morgan Creek Condominium community some years back. Each unit had a
dedicated garage and a parking space. There were also about 20 visitor parking spaces. You only have to
drive down Villard and Michael Grove streets adjacent to the complex to see that the occupant's cars
exceed the parking by a huge amount.
It is probably impossible to calculate the exact parking necessary to keep cars off adjacent streets.
However, I would suggest that these buildings be required to have, in addition of 2 parking spaces,
dedicated storage units as well as a rentable lockup area for excess vehicles, RVs, boats and the like.
