We are concerned that tax increment money (Bozeman city residents' taxes) could be used to clean up and
develop the Idaho Pole site and prepare it for businesses to come in and profit at our expense. Therefore
we were concerned when we read in the BDC of 12 November that City Manager Mihelich supports using
local public funds to clean up Idaho Pole's contamination of the site (see page A7). If the site is to be
developed, those private entities developing it should pay the cost and assume full liability with no risk
placed upon the public.
