Hi Tanya,
I hope you and your family are safe, healthy and thriving! It's been about 3 months since we met at Beall Park and I was wondering how your committee
is moving forward and if you could provide an update on your progress.I also want to make a suggestion with regard to a housing option that does not exist in
Bozeman but seems to be a good fit for many older adults; that is an Active Adult Community.I am currently reaching out to a number of well established developers and home builders such
as Del Webb, Brookfield Homes and Pulte Homes among others. I feel the growth and thelack of suitable age friendly homes plus the option for older adults to remain in their age
friendly, universally designed homes creates the perfect scenario for Active Adult Communitydevelopers to take a serious look at Bozeman. Covid has made it more important than ever to
provide opportunities and alternatives to Assisted Living Senior Living Communities and longterm care housing that seem to breed illness and increase the need for isolation. We need
better choices and soon! Active Adult Communities allow older adults of all abilities toremain in their own home. If there is a need for care, home health care businesses would be a
better option and cheaper than senior living community skilled nursing. If you'd like to discussthis, I'm open to doing so. In the meantime, I hope you will share this idea with Commissioner
Terry Cunningham and his affordable housing committee. Here is some more info on the subject:
