My name is Joslin Fields, I live at 530 East Davis Street, just a few blocks from your proposed Urban Renewal District, aka the super toxic pole yard located in an inconvenient andcurrently inaccessible location between the Railroad tracks and the Freeway. I haveowned my little house since 1991 in what was once a very quiet neighborhood. It is stunning to me that you are considering development of a huge Urban Renewal District nearby when the ever popular Wild Crumb traffic alone, has made comingand going along Wallace next to impossible during their business hours. It is hard tocomplain about delicious baked goods, but the North East Side of town isn’t able to absorb the kind of traffic. The idea that the city is considering massive additional traffic that would be generated by such a large scale development is outrageous. More importantly is that this site has been proven to be as toxic, saturated anddangerous as it was when first declared a Superfund Site. Though delisted for some reason, the five year review by the EPA concluded that the site is STILL leaching poisons into the ground waters above acceptable risk standards. How does massive digging and development make any sense? Why would we want to disturb the soiland poison our waters more? I read the Board of Health report on the site and it is MIND BOGGLING to me why you would push to develop, or even tiptoe on this toxic site. There is no access, there is no fiscal advantage, there is no SENSE in disturbing this site that was so carelessly poisoned in previous years. Why is thecity turning to its own staff, rather than allowing the citizens of Bozeman to partake in this important and life threatening decision? This certainly looks like you are trying to get this development passed behind our backs. SHAME ON YOU! Sincerely, Joslin Fields 530 East Davis Street Bozeman, MT59715 I
