Good morning. I’m writing this to express my support for the dirt jumps at Westlake park. I believe they
have been an amazing asset to our city. The accessibility for riders of all ages has been wonderful. I love
seeing the little kids riding right next to their older siblings. It makes me really happy to see kids riding
bikes in this age of electronic stimulation. Not only that, but the dedication and passion of the builders
and volunteers is amazing. It gives people a chance to get their hands dirty snd get involved. I really
hope this continues.
Sincerely,

To whom it may concern;
I am writing to show support for the continuation and maintenance of the Westlake Dirt Jumps.
I have been going to the Westlake Dirt Jumps for the 18-years I have lived in Bozeman. Over
that time period I have observed the benefits this opportunity provides to Bozeman residents
of all ages.
As an adult, I personally met many of my friends there and cherish those relationships to this
day. I have spoken to and ridden with many younger members of the bike community at this
site, and have observed the positive impact the Westlake Dirt Jumps have provided by giving
kids and teens a productive outlet, a skillset to focus on, and a means of developing
relationships with other people who share their interests. It has been a place where riders
across the spectrum of age and skill level have gathered as a community for years.
The powerful positive impact of sports and recreation on communities is well supported. Not all
sports happen at schools or on teams and I believe it is imperative to provide a diverse range of
options to meet the needs of all our community members. The Westlake Dirt Jumps are an
important part of this and I would strongly encourage Bozeman’s commissioners to take into
account the value of this recreation opportunity for the community.
Sincerely,
