RECOMMENDED MOTION: I move to appoint one member to the Audit Committee, Citizen
Position, with a term ending March 1, 2022.
STRATEGIC PLAN: 1.2 Community Engagement: Broaden and deepen engagement of the
community in city government, innovating methods for inviting input from the community and
stakeholders.
BACKGROUND: The Audit Committee has one Citizen-Accountant position vacancy and
one citizen position vacancy due to a term expiration. One current committee member has
reapplied for a term renewal. No new applications have been received.
The role of the Audit Committee is to advise the City Commission regarding selection of an
auditor, monitoring the audit while in process and reviewing the comprehensive annual financial
report in detail, forwarding a recommendation to the Commission.
The Audit Committee currently has one vacancy. The City Clerk’s Office has received one
application, with their relevant qualifications indicated below.
1. Citizen-Accountant Position, expiring March 1, 2021 | Qualifies: None
2. Citizen Position, expiring March 1, 2022 | Qualifies: L. Gabel, reapplicant

I have served on several boards both governmental and private: Fort Collins Senior Advisory Board, Fort
Collins Budgeting for Outcomes (2X), Poudre River Library Board (chaired), mental health board (chaired),
Friends of the Symphony Board and earlier in my life on family and children's services boards as well as
symphony and opera. In my professional life served as treasurer for national board, among others.
