Epple - Future Land Use Map -- Suggested RevisionFrom:Andy and Paulette Epple To:Agenda Cc:trodgers@bozeman.net Subject:Future Land Use Map -- Suggested Revision Date:Monday, October 19, 2020 2:15:24 PM Attachments:AD438DF5CF5A4C5583B034C848911D69.png Dear Mayor Andrus and members of the Commission. The purpose of this email is to request that, in making final changes to the Draft Bozeman Community Plan, you change the proposed Future Land Use designations on the highlighted +33-acre parcel of land (see map below) from “Public Institutions” and “Community Commercial Mixed Use” to “Parks and Open Lands.” The subject property is privately-owned by Sacajawea Audubon Society (SAS) and is commonly known as the “Indreland Audubon Wetlands Preserve” (IAWP). Sacajawea Audubon intends to manage the entire property as natural “open lands,” primarily for the benefit of avian (and other) wildlife, as well as for public education and enjoyment. The narrative description of “Parks and Open Lands” in the Draft Community Plan most closely fits Sacajawea Audubon’s vision for this acquired property, whereas the descriptions of “Public Institutions” and “Community Commercial Mixed Use” do not fit the ownership pattern or intended uses of the property. Sacajawea Audubon looks forward to actively participating in future discussions regarding application of an appropriate zoning designation for the IAWP, in compliance with the adopted land use classification. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact me at the this email address or by phone at (406) 580-6186.
