I support the Frontage Pathway 3-mile route linking over 100 miles of paths – Frontage highway has
been so dangerous for all drivers, bikers, walkers for as long as I have lived in Bozeman – 41 years!
Outrageous that this has not been fixed, especially by the MDOT. This road is so scary, I hate to
drive on it. There are thousands of people who drive, bike, walk this route from Belgrade to
Bozeman for work, recreation at the Gallatin County Regional Park, medical visits, other recreation,
dining and shopping in either town, etc. We demand safety and the ability of all Gallatin Valley
residents to use whatever transportation they have available and can afford to get between Belgrade
and Bozeman, at a minimum.
It is outrageous the MDOT has limited guidelines when it builds and repairs roads all over the State
to get rid of the steep ditches on each side of a road (lots of these in the Gallatin Valley), add
additional pavement for bicycles and walkers so everyone is safe, and providing safe migratory
routes for wildlife (under, over, through the roads). Costs thousands of dollars in vehicle
repairs/replacements and injury and loss of life to people.
Please use at least $90,000 from the TOP funds used for the planning and construction of Frontage
Pathway – and if more funding becomes available include those funds.
Thank you.
