Subject:Funding of Frontage Pathway project

Dear Bozeman City Commission:
I am writing to express support of funding to the Frontage Pathway project, from TOP bond funds. As both a runner
and cyclist, I expect this connector project will greatly facilitate the ability to move from the Bozeman-centric
eastern areas of the Gallatin Valley, to the western areas servicing Belgrade, Four Corners, and areas between the
two.
I have used the off-street path paralleling Valley Center Road a number of times for bike commutes connecting Four
Corners to my home near Bozeman Deaconess Hospital, via Jackrabbit, Valley Center, and then various surface
street options to the southeast section of Bozeman. The worst (most dangerous) section of this route is around the
interconnection of North 19th and I-90, especially the commercial traffic in the Costco/Target area. If a safe path
existed from Valley Center to trails at Cherry River Fishing Access, this would circumvent the high-vehicle-traffic
portion of the commuting route, allowing navigation via the less-trafficked roads and trails north of Griffin and
along roads or trails on the northeast side of downtown Bozeman.
Please support the GAP project with funding from TOP! Thank you!
