Jorgensen - Christopher Coburn for City Commission VacancyFrom:Ellerey Jorgensen To:Agenda Subject:Support for Christopher Coburn - City Commission Date:Wednesday, October 7, 2020 12:18:39 PM Afternoon, I realize I did not get this email sent before the noon deadline, my apologies. My name is Ellerey Jorgensen and I am a systems counselor working with families, couples, and children in the Bozeman community. I am writing today to share my support for ChrisCoburn to serve on Bozeman's City Commission. Identifying as a queer person myself, I would be relieved and comforted to know I am being represented in our city policies. Working as a counselor I hear many stories of discriminationand oppression, leading to significant mental health effects, from individuals identifying as BIPOC or queer. Although I do not want to speak for these people, I believe they too would becomforted with knowing their plights are being represented by someone who is empathetic to their experiences. Furthermore, there has never been a better time than now for our city to have greater educationand guidance from our public health professionals. I have personally spoken with Chris about his views of public health, and he has clearly communicated that the safety of our city is of theutmost importance. I believe he will work to create a more inclusive and healthier environment, including our physical, mental, and emotional health, for all bozemanites. In closing, I am in full support of Chris Coburn serving on our city commission. Hewholeheartedly advocates for our community for the betterment of all! I am more than willing to discuss this further. Please feel free to contact me at 208-794-8275.
