Dear Bozeman City Commission,
As a life-long Bozeman resident, I write in strong support of appointing Christopher Coburn to the
City Commission. I am fortunate to have known Christopher professionally and personally for years.
Obviously, it’s 2020 and the Commission would benefit from diversity to better represent ALL
citizens of Bozeman. I have never met someone more committed, and successful, at bringing people
together and advocating for the inclusion of underrepresented voices in all the spaces he occupies.
It is not simply that Christopher dedicates his personal and professional life to creating more diverse
and equitable systems. It is that he SUCCEEDS in this endeavor. He is trusted in this community –
known to be an engaging, respectful, and accountable partner. He has the demonstrated ability to
truly engage and foster collaboration. The trust he has established with community partners through
his work with Bozeman Health is staggering and has been an honor to observe.
Finally, on the topic of affordable housing and growth, which is central to the City’s work, I find it
paramount that the Commission bring on a candidate who rents to help round out Commission
discussions and actions. He understands and relates to the growing population of young
professionals in Bozeman, and offers the perspective and lived experience the commission needs.
We need more folks like Christopher serving in leadership positions in Montana and appointing him
to the Bozeman City Commission would be a great start to walking the walk of including young,
inspired voices into our public discourse and governance.
With appreciation for your consideration and work on behalf of the City of Bozeman,
Brianne Rogers
