Dear Commissioners,
Although I reside in Belgrade, most of my activities, both now and growing up, have been in
Bozeman. I'm also planning on moving into Bozeman in a few months. Due to my lifeexperiences and my future plans, I'm invested in Bozeman.
I am writing to endorse Christopher Coburn. There are so many reasons why I support Mr.Coburn. The first reason is that we need more representation of the BIPOC community on our
city commission. We can't hope to build an equitable society if we exclude any voices fromour community and we need someone who can speak to the experience the BIPOC community
has in Bozeman, MT. He would provide so many perspectives to the commission; he'd bringperspectives from his experiences of being a member of the BIPOC community, being raised
by a single mother, being a tenant, having student loans, and being a member of theLGBTQIA+ community. Mr. Coburn is also someone we need during this pandemic. His
experience as the system manager for community health improvement, his partnerships withBozeman Health as well as his work on the Gallatin City-County Board of Health will provide
valuable insight into how we can best handle COVID-19.In addition to his professional qualifications, he is a kind person. He works well with others
and will follow the rules that help the commission to function well. His passion for thecommunity not only shows in his work but in his time off of the clock. He engages with many
non-profits and organizations, including Bozeman United for Racial Justice. He connects withthe community and that is what we need on the City Commission.
Thank you for your time.Sincerely,
