I would like to submit a recommendation for Brian LaMeres to fill the vacancy on the City Commission.
The City Commission has consistency voiced about diversity on the Bozeman City Commission, however,
the diversity does not include one conservative, one person who is concerned about the budget, increasing
taxes, transparency, affordable housing, safety for residents and businesses, and being a voice for more
than half of the residents in the City of Bozeman, which is desperately needed. The City Commissioners
have a duty to represent ALL residents living in Bozeman and you do NOT HAVE ONE CONSERVATIVE ON
THE COMMISSION. The City Commissioners consistently “welcome diversity”. A significant percentage of
the residents are conservative. Where is our representation? Where is our representation for the
businesses in Bozeman? Where is our representation for keeping our taxes down and working with the
County to do the same? Where is our representation for long term ranchers? Where is our representation
for public safety rather than defunding the police? Where is our representation for a fair budget? I
recommend Brian LaMeres.
Brian is far more qualified than all of the 19 other applicants who clearly not qualified to handle the
financial aspects of running city that is rapidly growing. Brian will do the following:
• Focus on the City's budget, public safety, business and transportation, transparency and accountability.
• He will continue the excellent stewardship Jeff Krauss demonstrated in committing to limited government
and in keeping a watchful eye on your tax dollars.
• Will do a better job of managing our tax dollars and getting along with the County so that shared costs
will be kept down.
• He will add greater transparency, accountability and make sure that our voice is heard.
• Brian was born and raised in Montana, an MSU graduate and lived in Bozeman for 33 years and has
worked at City Hall for 23 ½ years.
• Currently a Controller/software manager on his 23rd year in City of Bozeman’s Finance Department.
• With over 16 years as Finance Department Representative on Community, Affordable Housing Advisory
Board, he will address all housing issues for everyone.
• Supports our Sheriff’s Department to keep residents and businesses safe, which is what Bozeman
residents want.
