As you consider applicants to fill the commission vacancy I would implore you to consider a
member of the BIPOC community. This is a vital opportunity to include voices that are notusually considered in policy making that deeply affects this community. In addition, our
commitment to reform our police department will be greatly enhanced by the input fromcommission members who are from that community.
Regardless of prior political credentials, the most important qualification is being a trustedmember of the BIPOC community.
Please, please don't pass up an opportunity to fill this vacancy with someone who is from theminority population.
