Church Avenue Bozeman, MT 59715 (406) 570-7444 susanquarles@gmail.com September 21, 2020 Bozeman City Commission 121 N. Rouse Avenue Bozeman, MT 59715 To the Commissioners: I write to enthusiastically recommend Jennifer Madgic to be appointed to the open seat on the City Commission. I have known Jennifer in several capacities since I moved to Bozeman 15 years ago, and we have served together on the Community Food Co-op Board of Directors since I joined the board six years ago. I feel that I know Jennifer both professionally and personally quite well, and I believe that she would be an excellent addition to the City Commission. As a member of the Co-op board, Jennifer is undaunted by difficult tasks and cheerfully volunteers for assignments that others might consider drudge. Her intelligence and attention to detail are qualities that the board relies on and her positive attitude and willingness to compromise make her a very easy person to work with. Additionally, with 20 years of experience working in government, Jennifer has ideal qualifications to serve as a Commissioner. She was an aide to Sen. Jon Tester for 11 years and has over 14 years of experience as a community planner, including two years with the City of Helena, 10 years with Gallatin County, and three years as a planning consultant with Livingston and Park County. Jennifer currently serves on the Bozeman Planning Board, as she has for the past 2 ½ years. I know that Jennifer is dedicated to serving this community, as her experience shows, and I am sure that she will bring this dedication to the City Commission. I believe that she would be able to seamlessly transition into the role of Commissioner and I believe city staff would find her to be an amenable and personable colleague. Please feel free to contact me if I can provide any additional information. Sincerely, Susan Quarles
