Greetings,
Upon review of the Future Land Use Map, it appears reasonable as a general guide for future
growth. More specifically, however, from my viewpoint as a 30+ year Bozeman resident whohas witnessed the explosive growth that continues to take place to the northwest part of the
valley, I would recommend the City become more proactive in directing growth toward thesouthwest (i.e., west of South 19th to Cottonwood Road and south of Huffine to Blackwood
Road) part of the valley.
This area is much closer to MSU, Oracle and the hospital (major employers), as well asdowntown, and it doesn't make much sense to me to continue to expand aggressively to the
northwest -- further and further from these major employers and service providers.
I understand that water/sewer infrastructure is the limiting factor for growth in the SW area, but the City should be cognizant of this limitation when approving future development, and
take a more proactive approach to guiding growth to the SW part of the valley.--
