To whom it may concern,
I hope this email finds you well. First, let me thank you for taking the initiative to proactively mitigate
the effects of climate change in Bozeman. As a Bozeman resident and the new Madison-Gallatin
fisheries biologist for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, I welcome the proposed efforts outlined in the
draft Climate Change Plan. If we are going to maintain and restore the surrounding natural resources
that many of us enjoy and all of us need, immediate changes to how we use and protect those
resources are needed. I was happy to see water use addressed in the plan. I encourage the city and
its residents to look into additional measures (e.g., stream setbacks) to help minimize the effects of
climate change in our quickly growing community. Please do not hesitate to reach out with
questions or concerns about fisheries and other aquatic related issues. I’m happy to help in the
process anyway possible.
Best,
Mike
