B. Public comment
Any individuals wishing to address the Commission on any of the items on the work
session agenda are asked to do so at this time
C. Work Session Items - These items are for discussion only. Any formal actions must be placed on
a future agenda.
1. Continued discussion - process for selection of Municipal Judge
Staff has taken the discussion from last Tuesday's work session and
turned it into a process and supplemental questions for Commission
consideration. Staff has also prepared an advertisement to run in the
Bozeman Daily Chronicle, beginning Sunday, in light of the
Commission's interest in starting the process as quickly as possible.
Staff requests that the Commission affirm/ amend the supplemental
questions and the information to be provided in the application packet,
which is enumerated in the sample letter.
2. Discussion - current regulations for accessory dwelling units and possible amendments (ACE)
Through adoption of the Unified Development Ordinance, some of the
restrictions placed on accessory dwelling units under the zone code
were removed. Under this item, Planning Director Epple will identify
those changes; the Commissioners may wish to provide input on
possible revisions to be made either immediately or during the
upcoming comprehensive revision process.
3. Discussion - possible designation of leash free dog area in Burke Park and leash free dog
parks at the Recreation Complex and The Ponds
Under the City code, dogs are required to be on leash, under the
immediate control of a person physically capable of restraining the
animal, except in areas designated by the Commission through
adoption of a resolution as being exempt from that provision. During
discussion revolving around adoption of the ordinance enacting these
provisions, Burke Park was suggested as a leash free area; the
Recreation and Parks Advisory Board has recently approved the
designation of fenced areas at the Recreation Complex and The Ponds
as leash free areas also.
4. Continued discussion - process for setting of goals for upcoming fiscal year
The Commission will continue the discussion started at last week's
meeting on the process of developing goals for Fiscal Year 2005-2006.
5. Continued discussion - new agenda format and future Commission meeting schedule
The City Manager will give his analysis of how the revisions in the
agenda format are working and his vision for future Commission
meetings, seeking additional Commission feedback.
