Greetings;
I apologize for not writing about this issue earlier. The wildfire smoke earler this week put my health in seriousjeopardy. I am a member of the at-risk population, having Multiple Sclerosis and a compromised immune system.
I am writing to you regarding the issue of a vehicle I had been trying to purchase being towed for a parking violationoutside of my place of residence. I live at the Boulevard Apartments (6 West Babcock between Tracy and Willson).The city and Northwest Energy destroyed the alley between Willson and Tracy, and with it, the parking lot of theapartment complex. I had been trying to abide by the restrictions put in place during construction, until the heat ofthe summer made it near-impossible to park less than a block away from my apartment. MS has given me asecondary condition called Uhlthoff's phenomenon, which is in effect an allergy to heat and sunlight.
The car I was using got both booted and towed. I was told nothing could be done or no exceptions can be made forit, because of an excess of tickets issued in the month of July (the same month I was displaced from parking). I wasnot notified of any of these tickets because the registration on the vehicle is not yet in my name. I was in the processof purchasing the vehicle from someone before the covid-19 pandemic hit, and since then I have no idea about thewhereabouts of the original owner- I am not at all certain as to whether or not she is still alive).
I no longer have a vehicle, and I do not have the means to pay off these unreasonable charges (the BoulevardApartments is section 8 housing). Is there any way you can help me dispute these charges to reacquire that vehicle? Iam terrified that the impound storage charges are going to make reacquisition also unlikely.
Thank you very much for your consideration, and I eagerly await a response.
