I'm not sure who to contact for help, but I got this email address that I'm told will
reach many city officials. I live on Arabian Avenue in Baxter Meadows. I figured out
yesterday that what I thought was a small project fixing a sewer pipe in our narrow
street is actually a huge project that involves installing a sewer main using a lot of
enormous machinery and trucks. Our street will be essentially closed for weeks and
we will have no access to our homes and therefore no city services such as garbage,
fire department if needed, ambulances if needed, deliveries, etc. I went to the project site today that is currently working along Davis Lane and I
have to say I'm extremely alarmed that the city is routing this project through our tiny
street. I don't see how our property and houses won't be damaged by large
equipment digging and shaking the ground. The fact this was decided without ourknowledge or input is shocking to me. If you go observe the project on Davis and
then come look at our cute little Arabian Avenue, you will understand my fear and
concerns. Have you explored alternate routes that would be less impactful to citizens
and their property? I understand the concept of greater good and realize we need main sewer lines,
but I love my house and my neighborhood and I feel Arabian Avenue home owners
are being forced to make a sacrifice for the Bozeman good that is unreasonable and
unfair. I hope you do look into this for all of us who live on Arabian Avenue. Thanks so much for serving our community and taking the time to listen to my
concerns.
