Sorry thought this was attached.
m reaching out as a mom, childcare provider with more than 20 years of
experience and a member of the community.
I know you all are involved in COVID-19 response and support work and wantedto see if you have considered how your organization may provide support and/or
connections for local kids and online schooling this fall.
We have a group of 12 kids (6 at a time) along with two qualified teachers whoare ready to help kids with online learning on the days they are not able to go to
school, most of whom whose parents are essential workers. Many kids will beforced to stay home alone in the fall, which, is very concerning to me as a mom,
especially when considering our most at-risk populations. To me, this is one ofthe most critical issues our community faces as we enter the school year. Every
kid deserves a quality education.
So, we have kids, we have the teachers and our main hiccup? Space. We havereached out to several businesses and public organizations around town asking,
however, the challenges are liability and leases. While we have applied for grantsalready, it is not possible to pay for this space upfront in terms of a traditional
lease. I was curious if this question has crossed your path yet? In terms ofcarrying short term insurance, releasing liability for space, and hiring professional
cleaners, our group would be able to provide these things. However, we run intothe issue of the astronomical cost of rent this community, and how to navigate
those muddy waters during a pandemic (especially with short term, emergencyleases)…while providing children with a safe place to be during the day and
receive a good education. We anticipate finding funding to cover the cost of rentat market value.
I thought you may have connections in regard to this critical issue and may be
interested and/or able to help us find a way to provide this crucial service to ourcommunity‘s children.
Let me know if you have any thoughts, leads, etc. I would love the opportunity to
discuss this with you, including any questions or concerns you may have. Are youable to schedule a quick phone call with me?
Thank you for any consideration of this.
Kindly,
Dayna Bergin

Someone just suggested city hall has a room we might be able to use?

Thank you for any consideration just trying to help families stay
working and let kids well be kids.
