SUBJECT: Recognition of Forty Years of Dedication
Even before the recent turmoil with YNP''s cooperating association (YF),
and its option to discontinue the Institute (a remarkable Bi-Centennial project),
some of us realized that the outfit eras likely to ignore a significant-milestone as-
Jim Halfpenny Frith 200+ classes passed the forty-war mark as part of the
Institute's educational mission.
e determined to not let this go unnoticed. Icy all rights, YF should be
stepping up to sponsor and cater a grand gathering to celebrate this-level of
dedication. Hovever, since_it has lost its gray and sense of history-and - -
indebtedness to its builders, ire grant to ask you to help.
Many instructors deserve accolades for 10, 20, or 30 years of contributions
to the educational goals of the Institute. A fear have made the 35-year mark
Wayne Phillips is probably second in years of classes. Harold Pictan started
working Frith Steve Mealey's Griz class in the early 1980s. JimGarry is second in
total classes offered. (If you know of ethers, please add names.) _
Today ire grant you to help us focus on Jim Halfpenny. Despite not being
able to rendezvous torecognize and honor him, please-do it on your ovn by
sending Jim a personal card, photo, letter, or something as a memento to
aucknovledge his notable years of service to Yellovstone, the ecosystem, the natural
