I work in the Regus building downtown and have a clear view from my window of the work currently being done on all four crosswalks on the intersection outside my office to politically speak out for inclusivity for marginalized groups. This immediately made me think of the signs I saw being held up in downtown last week such as "all cops are evil" "a good cop is a dead cop" and "real cowboys and cowgirls hate cops", and how incredibly marginalized our law enforcement is in the current political climate. I would love to discuss the opportunity of working with your office to plan a crosswalk downtown representing our local law enforcement, to let them know, in the words of our city manager Jeff Mihelich, "We continue to make steps forward to make it clear that Bozeman is a safe and welcoming community for all". I would expect our local law enforcement would especially need to know that now, as people stand in the street proposing the murder of all police officers and stating that every single police officer is unilaterally evil. I am sure all on the city management staff would agree. Please let me know how we can work toward a plan in the next month for getting this project underway.
