Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Honorable Mayor and City Commission FROM: David Fine, Urban Renewal Program Manager SUBJECT: Resolution 5210 authorizing Change Order No. 1 to the North 7th Avenue Streetscape Project. MEETING DATE: August 18, 2020 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent RECOMMENDATION: Approve Resolution 5210. BACKGROUND: In spring 2020, the City acquired additional right-of-way for the N. 7th Ave. Streetscape Project adjacent to the property at 431 N. 7th Ave. Staff noted that the additional right-of-way was a positive addition to the project, the addition would require a change order for the project to add an additional segment of work to the project. This is the most significant part of the cost of the change. Change Order 1 also includes blue powder coating for three pedestrian crossing poles to match other poles on the project and modifications to a fiber option conduit crossing to reduce the costs of long term maintenance of the street and conduit. The final recommended change in cost and time for these items is reasonable and commensurate with the work involved. UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None ALTERNATIVES: As suggested by the City Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS: This change order increases the contract amount by $120,395.75 from $3,495,000 to $3,615,395.75. Funding for the change order was specifically included in the Midtown Urban Renewal District FY2021 Work Plan and Budget.
