Hello Chris,
By way of bringing something to your attention. For many years I served on the cemetery board and frequent thegrounds regularly. In all my years I have never seen the them in such poor condition. It’s certainly NOT due to thefine work of cemetery employees. It appears to have everything to do with water, or the lack thereof. I’d invite youto take a drive, starting at the lower end by the Park entrance. It is tinder dry. No doubt the water situation isimpacting irrigation. Understood. My concern isn’t simply aesthetic, but has far more to do with fire danger. Asone who worked light years back with a fire crew, and also for the duration of the ‘88 Yellowstone Fires, I’ve seenwhat little it takes to get the beast growling. A careless match could torch the dry grass and lead immediately to theold growth trees in the cemetery. It would be a tragedy.I’m not sure who is calling the shots on watering the place, so thought you might want to check into it.
