Mr. Mehl,I am writing about the proposed parking permit fee increase for the University/ High School areas. This increaseshould NOT be voted in.Ron Brey, a neighbor, has shared a letter to the commission, which documents the origination of the Parking Permitprogram. Kathy Powel has relayed the letter with the document of the minutes of the City Commission meeting of11/15/1993.The Parking Program was presented to be a neutral financial situation. It was to be isolated from the general coffers.The use of fees, and fines was to provide the funding for running the program.As per Kathy Powel's email, the fees should not go up, but rather go down.If the monies are to be used for otherparking service projects, this would not follow with the Ordinance 1376.Please do not vote for the increase of the parking fees for the University Program. Please allow me to purchasepermits for my family and friends to visit.I thank you for the time and attention to this matter.
