Hainsworth - Urban Density zoning proposal in Community Plan Update. From:Pamela Hainsworth To:Agenda Subject:Urban Density zoning proposal in Community Plan Update. Date:Tuesday, July 21, 2020 2:13:04 PM Hello, Thank you all for putting together the Bozeman Community Plan Update. Regarding the proposed zoning change from R1 and R2 to “Urban Density” please reconsider this large scale change to such a large area of Bozeman. I live in the North Tracy Historic District in R2. This allows ADU’s. R2 having such precise parameters gives the residents in this area security in knowing what can and more importantly, cannot be built next door. The North Tracy Historic District is located between the Downtown, Midtown and Cannery districts which properly allow for higher heights and density. But this makes it even is even more important to maintain the historic attributes of the residential neighborhoods that are bordered by these areas. On Juneteenth (June19) this year, the Extreme History Project honored the day by giving a free tour of the former Black neighborhoods in Bozeman, it started at Beall Park and wound around the North Tracy neighborhood. With this area so close to the downtown core it is important that the City does not change the zoning to be so “permissive” that it allows out of scale building size and heights to “creep’ into this historic residential neighborhood.
