Charron - Delta Gamma Group Living ExpansionFrom:Tom Rogers To:Agenda Cc:Chris Saunders Subject:FW: Delta Gamma Group Living Expansion Date:Friday, July 17, 2020 11:52:49 AM Comment on Application 20170 From: Richard Charron <RichardJCharron@msn.com> Sent: Friday, July 17, 2020 11:27 AM To: Tom Rogers <TRogers@BOZEMAN.NET> Subject: Delta Gamma Group Living Expansion To Whom It May Concern: I am writing in regards to the notice of Delta Gamma remodel and expansion of parking on Garfield street. I am not in favor of this project. Current parking on Garfield and Fourth is already at beyond capacity. When the University is in session, members of the sororities pack the parking on the streets. To add to this problem would be the addition of twenty five new parking spaces which Delta Gamma proposes. It is too congested. As to the remodel of the former school, no plan or image has been presented of the impact upon the exterior of the building. As the proposal implies that additional space for lodging would be added, I can only feel that the impact upon the neighborhood would be imposing. Current green space has been a soothing effect upon the neighborhood. As I remember, when the fraternity existed, the effect of congestion, trash, racing cars, and the run down appearance of the fraternity building degraded our area. Tearing down the fraternity only helped with open space. All parties in our neighborhood use this lawn, for recreation, for the sororities, for our pets. More information is needed for Delta Gamma to proceed. Site diagrams, building and parking renderings are needed. While these may exist for Delta Gamma, community members need to see and be included. For now, I am opposed to the changes proposed by Delta Gamma. Sincerely, Richard Charron 1121 S. 3rd Ave. Bozeman, Montana
