Dear Bozeman City Council,
I would like to strongly suggest that the City of Bozeman institute a public mask order immediately to
prevent further spread of COVID-19. In order to open schools and businesses, virus suppression efforts
must be taken seriously and must begin immediately. Face coverings in public spaces are shown to reduce
transmission more than 75%. A recent study in Health Affairs states "mask mandates led to a slowdown in
daily COVID-19 growth rate, which became more apparent over time." Please don't let a vocal and
misinformed minority further place our community at risk. Let science and the safety of our community
influence your decision. I am a registered voter in Bozeman, a health care professional, a home owner,
married to a biochemistry professor/virologist and the parent of two children at Bozeman High School.
