Res 5205 RoW for City Street Access to Glen Lake Rotary Park App 19492 Commission Memorandum REPORT TO: Mayor and City Commission FROM: Danielle Garber, Associate Planner Martin Matsen, Community Development Director SUBJECT: Resolution No. 5205 Authorizing the Creation & Establishment of Right- of-Way for a City Street across Parcel 2B of the Amended plat of Lot 2, Minor Subdivision No. 154, Minor Subdivision No. 154B for the purposes of providing additional access to the Glen Lake Rotary Park, Subdivision Exemption #19492 MEETING DATE: July 20, 2020 AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent Agenda RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the creation and establishment of right-of-way for the additional access to Glen Lake Rotary Park across Parcel 2B of Minor Subdivision No. 154B. BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of Resolution #5205. The Subdivision Exemption application #20075 was reviewed and approved by City Staff. The amended plat was recorded June 26, 2020 under document #2686850. The additional right of way will allow for a second access to the Glen Lake Rotary Park and will serve the public interest by improving traffic flow through the Park, providing additional parking and access to the Park and its amenities, providing increasing public safety. Attachments: Resolution 5205 Exhibit A: Amended Plat Report compiled on: 7/9/20 96 After recording return to: Bozeman City Clerk PO Box 1230 Bozeman, MT 59771 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 5205 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, AUTHORIZING THE CREATION & ESTABLISHMENT OF RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR A CITY STREET ACROSS PARCEL 2B OF THE AMENDED PLAT OF LOT 2 MINOR SUBDIVISION 154, MINOR SUBDIVISION 154B, FOR PURPOSES OF PROVIDING ADDITIONAL ACCESS TO THE GLEN LAKE ROTARY PARK WHEREAS, parcel 2B of Minor Subdivision No. 154B was dedicated to the city on June 26, 2020; and WHEREAS, the City manages the Glen Lake Rotary Park in partnership with the Sunrise Rotary and the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks; WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted the Master Plan for the Glen Lake Rotary Park calling for the creation of a second access to the south end of the Park; and WHEREAS, the creation and establishment of a public street and utility right-of-way across parcel 2B of Minor Subdivision 154B is necessary to the development of a second access road to the Glen Lake Rotary Park and will serve the public interest by improving traffic flow through the Park, providing additional parking and access to the Park and its amenities, providing increasing public safety. 97 Resolution 5205 (Establishing a Public Street and Utility Right-of-Way Across Lot 2B of Minor Sub No. 154B Page 2 of 2 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, as follows: Section 1 The City Commission hereby establishes and creates a public road and utility right-of-way across Parcel 2B of Minor Subdivision 154B as shown on Exhibit A. Section 2 This Resolution is to be recorded in the records of the Gallatin County Clerk and Recorder.
