You are notified that your Bid dated March 3111,2020,for the above Contract has been considered. You are
the apparent Successful Bidder and have been awarded a Contract for pavement cold milling, hot mix
overlays, seal coating, Concrete Improvements and pavement markings
The Contract Price of your Contract is: one million three hundred forty thousand seven hundred sixty
seven and 00/100 Dollars ($1,340,767.00).
Three copies of the proposed Contract Documents accompany this Notice of Award.
You must comply with the following conditions precedent within fifteen(15)days of the date of this
Notice of Award,that is,by May 81h,2020
1. You must deliver to the OWNER 3 fully executed counterparts of the Agreement including all the
Contract Documents and Drawings.
2. You must deliver with the executed Agreement the Contract Security (Bonds) as specified in the
Instruction to Bidders(page 7),General Conditions(paragraph 5.01)and Supplementary Conditions
(paragraph SC-5.02).
3. List other conditions precedent:
You must deliver with the executed Agreement the Certificates of Insurance as specified in
the General Conditions(paragraph 5.03)and Supplementary Conditions(paragraph SC-5.04).
Failure to comply with these conditions within the time specified will entitle OWNER to consider your
Bid abandoned,to annul this Notice of Award, and to declare your Bid Security forfeited.
Within ten (10) days after you comply with these conditions, OWNER will return to you one fully
signed counterpart of the Agreement with the Contract Documents attached.

SUBJECT: Authorize the City Manager to sign the Notice of Award and contract
documents for the 2020 Street Improvements Project to Knife River-
Belgrade, for the purpose of constructing the City's annual street
improvements.

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign the Notice of Award and contract
documents for the 2020 Street Improvements Project to Knife River-Belgrade, for the Total Schedule 1
thru 4 Base Bid in the amount of$1,340,767.00.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the Notice of Award for the above referenced project. The
project generally includes: pavement cold milling,hot mix overlays, seal coating, concrete improvements
and pavement markings and incidental items.
The contract is to be completed within 60 calendar days of the issuance of the notice to proceed.
Bids for the above-referenced project were opened on March 31, 2020 with 1 bid being submitted. The
bid was submitted by Knife River-Belgrade in the amount of$1,340,767.00 for the base bid schedules 1
thru 4. The Bid Tabulation for the project is attached. This bid is below the engineer's estimate and
commensurate with the work involved. Executed contract documents will be available online and
retained in the City Clerk's office.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: Disapprove
FISCAL EFFECTS: This project will be paid for with approved funding from the FY21 Street
Maintenance fund and Gas Tax Allocation. The contract documents specify that work may not begin until
after July 1,2020.
