This is a response to the pamphlet I received in today’s mail announcing that MSU residential parking fees are beingincreased to $45 per car.Can you please explain, in detail, why the cost of administration and enforcement is so excessive that our current$30 fee is not enough to cover that.Instead of increasing our permit fees, perhaps a trimming of your expenditures should be considered.The electronic method of parking enforcement, which many people have no idea how to use, has not solved yourdeficit problem. So that was money down the drain.I am totally opposed to your demand that residents get penalized for your failure to balance your budget.How about we return to yearly bumper stickers, costing $30 each, and have parking enforcement officers actuallyget out of their cars and give tickets to offenders.Do not penalize residents by raising fees.
